Has anyone else been thinking about the surveillance footage that was finally released in 2022, years after Jordan Ellerbe’s tragic murder? It's been haunting, to say the least. I'm perplexed as to why it took so long for this footage to come to light. While it's a relief that the video helped authorities find Oliver "Butter" Henry, it's infuriating to consider how many additional tragedies might have been prevented if the investigation had more leads earlier. The lethargic dissemination of such crucial evidence makes you wonder about the initial handling of the case. Seeing the footage was like reliving that horrible day, not just for the young people involved, but for the entire community that suffered as violence continued to spiral. Praying that with Henry’s sentencing, Jordan’s family can finally find some peace, and that awareness spreads about the importance of timely evidence sharing.
