I recently came across an old interview with one of DaShawn's high school teachers and it struck me how much potential he had at such a young age. It's so tragic to think about the path his life could have taken if this horrible incident hadn't happened. His teacher mentioned DaShawn's passion for art and how he would often stay after class to work on projects. It really hit home thinking about how his talent was lost too soon not just to his family and friends, but to the world. I know these things can feel overwhelming, and my heart goes out to everyone who cared about him, wanting some form of justice or closure. Let's keep the conversation going and remember who DaShawn was beyond the headlines. Anything that anyone remembers about him and his life is important too.
