Has anyone else been following the impact this case has had on the Wilmington community? I've been reading about the efforts local leaders and organizations have been making since that tragic evening in 2020, and it really emphasizes how these tragedies ripple through families and neighborhoods. It's good to see that there's a push for more collaboration between residents and law enforcement, but it feels like an uphill battle. I can't help but think about the families of Wade Hammond II and Lamont Davis – losing someone to violence must leave a void that never really heals. While the conviction of Marquis Crews-Foster might provide a small sense of justice, it doesn't change the fact that these two lives were lost. I'm curious to hear what others think might be effective strategies for reducing gun violence in our cities. Are there any grassroots movements or initiatives that have seen success elsewhere that we could look to as a blueprint? We really need sustainable solutions to prevent any more communities from enduring this kind of pain.
