I've been following Rashod Faison's case closely, and my thoughts are with his family and friends during this unimaginable time. Something that's been on my mind is the increase in gun violence we're witnessing in areas that once felt safer. It's deeply concerning that a neighborhood already struggling with rising crime would see such a tragic event unfold. It’s genuinely terrifying to think that a 15-year-old could become a victim in what should be the safety of their community. I wonder if local leaders are truly hearing the cries for more support and resources to mitigate these risks. Community centers, mentorship programs, and after-school activities could play a huge role in providing young folks with alternatives and keeping them engaged in positive ways. The loss of a young life like Rashod’s is a stark reminder of the work we need to do as a collective to safeguard our future generations. Sending strength and hope for justice in Rashod’s memory.
