It's truly difficult to read about another young life lost to senseless violence. Dahmiere, known by many as "Moody" or "Woe," was more than just a victim of this tragic incident. I'm struck by how much he managed to give to others in his 29 years. In a world where it can be easy to put ourselves first, he genuinely lived by the motto "Keep Family First." That says a lot about his character and priorities. I can't imagine the pain his loved ones are going through right now. To his extensive family, who all knew his deep loyalty and generous spirit, I'm sending thoughts of comfort during this agonizing time. It feels like Wilmington's struggles with violence continue to steal truly good people from us. I hope that Dahmiere's memory serves as a catalyst for some much-needed change in our communities. How do others feel about the steps being taken to tackle violence in Wilmington? It just doesn't seem to be enough.
