I recently came across the case of David F. Harmon and it got me thinking about the impact this must have had on his family and community. By all accounts, David seemed like a genuinely good person—a family man who loved hunting, flying, and spending time with loved ones at their camp. It's deeply saddening to think about the void his untimely death must have left in the lives of his family and friends. ?
The whole situation is a stark reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control. It's unsettling to see someone like Joseph Green carry out such an extreme action when confronted with the potential theft. Yet, despite any desperation or fear he might have felt in that moment, it doesn’t change the loss of a life.
How do we begin to address and process incidents like these in our communities? And how do we support the families who have lost someone they loved dearly in such a horrific way? I can only hope that, with time, David's family finds some peace and healing. He deserved so much better, and their story deserves to be remembered.
Has anyone else been thinking about the implications of Joseph Green's actions after the incident? Moving David Harmon's body to a different location on the property just leaves me with so many questions about his state of mind at that moment. I can't even begin to imagine the panic and fear he might have been feeling, but it seems like such an odd and incredibly risky thing to do. Harmon's family deserved to know what happened to him that day, and tampering with the scene probably added so much distress for them while they waited for answers. It's all just so profoundly sad. I feel for the Harmon family – dealing with the loss of a loved one is hard enough without compounded uncertainties. What do you all think was going through his mind?
Did anyone else find it unsettling how the body was moved after the shooting? I can't help but wonder what was going through Joseph Green's mind at that moment. It must have been a desperate and chaotic decision on his part. David Harmon deserved so much better than to have his life end this way and then have his body hidden. My heart goes out to his family, especially his wife, who must have gone through an unimaginable ordeal when she realized he was missing. The ripple effects this tragedy has had on their lives are immense. Does anyone know if there were any signs of tension or prior conflicts between them, or was this just a tragic case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time?
