On August 31, 2010, 40-year-old David F. Harmon was fatally shot in Windham, Maine, during an attempted theft of marijuana plants from the property of 44-year-old Joseph Green. Harmon had entered Green's land near Land of Nod Road with the intent to steal the plants when Green confronted him and fired a handgun, resulting in Harmon's death.
