I’ve been following the David Anderson case since it first happened, and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I can’t imagine the pain they’re experiencing with no closure even after all these years. What strikes me the most is the role Naja Lake played during the trial. It’s so troubling how pivotal her initial statement was, yet at trial, she took it all back. Was she lying then, or was she lying now? That about-face just blows my mind and really makes you question the justice system. It makes it so difficult when there’s no hard evidence to back any claims. It’s hard to shake off the feeling that the true story is still out there, buried under fear or intimidation. Maybe someone else knows more and is scared to speak up? It’s a lot to think about, especially knowing a family is waiting for some kind of resolution. I hope someday, someone with the right information comes forward.
