I’ve been thinking a lot about those poor kids who witnessed their parents being taken from them in such a cruel way. It’s unimaginable what they must be going through right now. I can’t stop wondering how we, as a society, can better protect children from being exposed to such trauma. I'm grateful there were brave bystanders who intervened, but it really makes me worry about the lack of support systems available for people like Lagrange before they can act out violently. It’s so crucial that we focus on spotting trouble signs early and getting people the help they need. The fact that there were no known connections between the families makes it all the more haunting. Sending love to Brittney and Michael’s family. I hope the community continues to stand by their side and support them through this incredibly difficult time.
I've been reflecting on the bravery and quick action of those bystanders who intervened during the horrific shooting of Brittney and Michael. It's truly incredible how, in moments of chaos, ordinary people stepped up and managed to disarm and detain Marcel Lagrange Jr. before more harm could be done. Imagine the courage it must have taken, knowing the danger they were facing. This selflessness undoubtedly protected Brittney and Michael's children from further trauma. My heart goes out to these young ones who had to witness the tragedy. It's reassuring to know that there are people who will step in and take action when it matters most. Anyone else amazed by the community strength shown that day?
