In exploring this case, I keep coming back to Bill and Aaron Young. It’s just such a profound loss for our community. Bill, with his joyous laughter, seems like the type of person who could easily brighten up the room. You can tell he touched many lives, not just at home, but also at work and among friends. I read about him being an Air Force veteran and working as a mechanic—it’s clear he had a hands-on, no-nonsense approach to life, yet he still embraced humor and family time. The thought of him enjoying wrestling with loved ones brings a bittersweet smile. And Aaron, at only 14 years old, clearly had a world of potential ahead of him. It’s hard to imagine losing a child who was so gentle and held in such high regard by his peers. Watching bowling become a father-son tradition is just another testament to how deep their bond ran. I think of all the families at Winthrop High, grappling with this unimaginable event. The memorial service showed just how much they were cherished, but it’s heartbreaking to think we won't see them continue to create joyful memories together. Cynthia’s strength in pushing to uncover more about the gunman speaks volumes. It's an incredibly courageous step, and it's essential for the healing process and finding some form of justice or understanding. My thoughts are truly with her and all the families affected during this time.

I can’t stop thinking about young Aaron, just starting his high school journey with so much ahead of him. It’s beyond sad to see such a promising life taken so soon. From everything I've read, he had a kind soul and really loved spending time with his dad. Every photo I've seen just shows him smiling, especially the ones at the bowling alley, where he seemed at his happiest. I’m sure his friends at Winthrop High School are feeling this loss profoundly. It's heartwarming to see how the community is coming together to support each other in this difficult time, like they did at the memorial service. My thoughts are with all of Aaron's friends and family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
