On November 12, 2020, 14-year-old Antonio Juju Carlos Thierry (known as JuJu) was shot in the chest at a residence on Beaverhead Court in Great Falls, Montana. Emergency responders found him about 5 p.m.; he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy ruled the cause of death a gunshot wound and the manner homicide.
Investigators concluded the fatal shot came from a rifle taken from a locked gun case by a 14-year-old friend, Connor Svingen. Authorities say the weapon discharged while Svingen was handling it. Svingen was charged with negligent homicide, admitted to the charge in Juvenile Court in April 2021, and in June 2021 a judge placed him on juvenile probation until he turns 21.
Antonio was an eighth grader at East Middle School and remembered for his kindness, love of basketball, and playing Fortnite. Great Falls Public Schools offered counseling after the shooting.
If anyone has information about that November afternoon or knew Antonio, please come forward.
