Has anyone looked into the mental health aspect of Colton Merritt's situation? It seems like there might be more than just the eviction notice and hash oil discovered in his room. From what I understand, living with that kind of tension, especially if there was a genuine fear for his safety, could have really impacted his mental state. I can't even imagine being in a situation where you feel trapped and scared in your own home. It's also really concerning how long it took for Colton to report what happened. Twenty-one hours is a long time to wait after something so drastic. Was he in shock? Did he panic and not know who to turn to? I think these questions are crucial in understanding the full picture here. My heart goes out to the Merritt family, as they have lost not only a family member but have to deal with this tragic situation so publicly. It must be incredibly difficult for them to process all of this.

Has anyone else been struck by the sheer number of shots fired in this case? I can’t wrap my head around the gravity of the situation—19 shots is beyond comprehension. It just seems so brutal. I can’t help but think about the fear and desperation that led to this tragic event. It raises so many questions about what was really happening in that household and what kind of relationship Colton had with his father before this. You have to wonder what was really going through Colton’s mind in those moments and if he genuinely felt he had no other choice. Regardless of everything else, both families must be in unimaginable pain right now, having to unravel all these events and emotions. My thoughts go out to everyone impacted.

I've been following the Colton Merritt case closely, and something that's been gnawing at me is the use of a .22-caliber bolt-action rifle. I know .22s are commonly used for small game hunting and target practice, but for it to be used in such a tragic incident is quite disturbing. Given the number of shots fired—19 in total—it’s hard to comprehend the level of fear or desperation Colton must have felt to keep pulling the trigger. It makes me wonder about the extent of the emotional and psychological strain he was under at the time. The discovery of hash oil in Colton’s room also complicates things. It’s possible it could influence perceptions about his mental state. Maybe the substances were a coping mechanism for him, but they might also affect the defense strategy in proving self-defense. I just feel for everyone involved, especially the family members left to pick up the pieces. Both Colton and Daniel’s lives are altered forever, and it must be incredibly difficult for those who loved them to process everything that's happened.
