I was reflecting on how deeply disturbing it is to think about John Delling’s obsession with aura and energy—specifically, how it drove him to target people like Brad Morse. The way Delling zeroed in on acquaintances really makes me wonder about the chilling connections he made between seemingly everyday interactions and his delusions. It’s eerie to think that an interest as benign as online gaming could somehow intersect with such a tragic event. Friends of Brad have mentioned how dedicated he was to his work at the Idaho Parks and Recreation Department, and it’s just devastating to imagine how his life was cut short outside a place he was so passionate about. My heart goes out to Brad’s family as well as everyone else affected by this senseless act. It really serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health support systems and the hope that we can prevent future tragedies.
