I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact this case has had on the local community, especially those who frequent Prout Park. It's just so unsettling to imagine that something so violent happened in a place that so many of us consider a safe spot for family outings and morning jogs. I really feel for Richard Carlson's family; losing someone in such a tragic way must be incredibly difficult to process. It's good to see that the police put a lot of effort into the investigation, and hopefully, with Jonathan Bijeol’s plea, it brings some form of closure to those affected. However, the community's sense of security has certainly been rattled, and I truly hope that over time, healing can begin not just for Carlson’s loved ones but also for everyone who cherishes Prout Park.
