I was digging through some old articles and noticed something curious about Duane's case. There was a report of him possibly getting into a red Corvette around the time he vanished, but I've never come across any follow-up on that lead. Does anyone know if the driver of that car was ever identified or questioned? It's such an oddly specific detail, and for it to just disappear from further reports seems strange to me. Could it have been a false sighting, or maybe it wasn't taken seriously enough? It feels like a potential key moment that just got lost amidst the chaos of the initial days of his disappearance. Thoughts or any insights from the locals?

I was reading about Duane Fochtman's case and couldn't stop thinking about the supposed sighting of him getting into a red Corvette. I mean, a red Corvette really stands out, right? Seems strange that something so noticeable didn't lead to more concrete leads at the time. Did anyone else ever come forward to say they saw the same car or person driving it? I know rumors can spread, especially in a small town, but it feels like more should have been done to track down that car or potential driver. Anyone have any thoughts on why this angle might have been overlooked or not pursued further?
