I’ve been following the Brooke Goodrich case, and something that's been bothering me is the standoff part. Can you imagine the fear the local community felt during those four hours while Lance was holed up in Newport? It must have been terrifying, not knowing what was going to happen next and having to shelter in place. People often forget how widespread the impact of these tragedies can be, extending beyond the immediate families involved. My heart goes out to Brooke's loved ones and everyone in the area who had to endure that frightening period. It's just another layer of sadness to an already devastating situation. Anyone else from around the area who can share what that was like? How are the community members holding up now?
