In the early morning hours of November 1, 2005, gunfire broke the quiet on 32 Galveston Place SW in Washington, D.C. Kenneth A. Browne, an African-American man who lived in the area, was found about 1:00 a.m. with severe gunshot wounds. He was critically injured, received emergency care, but died on November 18, 2005, from the wounds sustained in that shooting.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch classified the incident as a homicide and issued a reward flyer offering up to $25,000 for information. Flyers and community outreach urged residents to report anything seen or heard before or after the shooting, but investigators released no suspect description or confirmed motive in the immediate aftermath.
Despite the reward and outreach, the case grew cold.
If anyone knew Kenneth Browne, was in that neighborhood that night, or has information that could help, please contact investigators.
