Did anyone else feel a sense of relief after Rodrigues was sentenced? It’s devastating that Leonardo Tavares lost his life in such a senseless act of violence, but knowing the person responsible is behind bars might bring a bit of peace to his family. Reading about his case really hit me hard, especially thinking about how young he was, with probably so much life ahead of him. I can't even imagine what his loved ones are going through, but I really hope this sentencing provides some closure. It’s also reassuring to see the Pawtucket Police and Attorney General working hard to take these dangerous individuals off the streets. This tragedy should remind us all to fight against the rise of gang violence in our communities. Let’s hope for a future with fewer families having to go through such pain.
