I’ve been following the Sacred Heart Park shooting with a heavy heart, especially after hearing about the memorial for Malcolm Sostre. It's evident how much he meant to those who knew him. I can't imagine the pain his family and friends are experiencing right now. The community's response with the memorial truly shows the depth of their love and respect for Malcolm. It's a testament to who he was and the impact he had on those around him. I hope that by coming together, they can find some comfort and strength during such a difficult time. It’s also so important that we address the concerns about violence in the area. This tragic event has sparked a much-needed conversation about safety and prevention, which is crucial to avoid more families suffering the same fate. My heart goes out to the other young man involved too. Having such a close brush with death must be a lot to process. Let’s continue to support the Central Falls community in their healing process.
