Just stumbled upon this tragic case and can't stop thinking about Christopher Janis's wife and the nightmare she's been through. Losing a partner under such violent circumstances is unimaginable, and it’s so sad to know that Christopher was just trying to do something special for her birthday. I hope she’s been able to find some support and healing from family, friends, or a community. On another note, I've been reading a lot about the investigation, and it seems like the collaboration between the FBI and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety was crucial in bringing justice to those involved. But it got me wondering how common these partnerships are on reservations and if they always work this smoothly? Props to them for their hard work on this one. Anyone have insights on how these cases are usually handled, especially in more remote areas like Pine Ridge?
