I've been thinking a lot about the small-town support that came together after the Conant tragedy. Wheatland may be a small community, but it's clear from the stories I've read that the folks there have big hearts. Organizing a candlelight vigil and a community barbecue to honor Joseph, Charles, Everett IV, and Roland shows how deeply everyone cared. It's touching to see how tragedies like these, while unimaginably painful, bring people together in ways that can provide a little bit of comfort and healing. I can't begin to imagine what Suzette is going through, but I hope knowing there's a whole community rallying behind her gives her some strength. Does anyone know if there are ongoing efforts or memorials dedicated to these young lives lost too soon?
