I was just reading through some old articles about the Haven family's disappearance, and I can't shake off how unsettling it must have been for the neighbors at the time. Can you imagine living in a small community where everyone knows each other, and one day, an entire family just vanishes? The fact that Bannon was going around town selling the family's things while everyone was wondering where their friends had gone is just chilling. It feels so deceptive and cold-hearted. I'm sure the community felt some relief when the truth came out, but without a trial and real closure, I bet those who lived through it were left with a lot of unanswered questions. It makes me think of the friends and extended family of the Havens who had to cope not only with their loss but also the violent end to any chance of getting real justice. My heart goes out to them, even this many years later.

I came across a detail that might not have been widely discussed yet. I was digging through old newspaper archives and found a small piece mentioning a diary entry written by Julia Haven. It's haunting to think that, just weeks before the family disappeared, she wrote about feeling uneasy and mentioned that Albert had caught someone—presumably Bannon—lingering around the property at odd hours. The diary entry doesn't explicitly accuse anyone, but knowing what we do now, it adds an eerie layer to this tragic story. It's incredibly sad to think that Julia might have sensed something was wrong but couldn't act on it in time. My heart goes out to their family and descendants who have had to carry this burden all these years. If anyone else has come across this diary detail or can provide more context, I’d be grateful to hear more about it.

I’ve been following the Haven family case for a while, and something about it struck me this morning. I started thinking about the neighbors and how Charles Bannon interacted with them after the family disappeared. Did any of them ever find it odd how he casually sold off the family’s possessions and animals? I keep wondering if Bannon was particularly convincing or if the community simply couldn't fathom such evil at the time. It must be incredibly haunting for those who lived near the Havens, realizing in hindsight that the perpetrator of this unimaginable crime was among them the whole time. My heart goes out to those who were blindsided by this betrayal. It's a chilling reminder of how appearances can deceive us. Does anyone have more insights on what the neighbors initially thought or if anyone ever confronted Bannon about his suspicious activities before the authorities got involved?
