I recently read about how Officer Jason Moszer was posthumously honored with the department's Silver Star Medal for his bravery. It’s humbling to think about his entire career, especially knowing he rescued two kids from a fire before this tragedy. His actions that day in 2011 show the kind of person he was—courageous and selfless. My heart goes out to his family, believing that they must carry both pride and grief since his loss. The community seems to have come together to remember him, and I think that’s a testament to how much he impacted their lives. It’s so important we continue to support our officers and their families who risk so much to keep us safe.
