Has anyone else done a deep dive into the background of Deputy George Arnold Scott? I came across his military records and was surprised to learn he served in WWI before returning home to become a deputy. It makes his story even more poignant, knowing he survived the battlefields only to be killed in his hometown. It must have been incredibly difficult for his young family to lose him this way. I find it inspiring how the community still honors his memory after more than a century. His story is a reminder of the daily risks taken by those in law enforcement, and my thoughts are with his descendants who carry his legacy.
