I was reading about Deputy Thrower's tragic story and can't help but feel for the families who lost two brave men in such similar circumstances just a few years apart. It makes you wonder how one family could bear such a burden. The 1920s were definitely a tough time for law enforcement, without all the technological tools we have today to track down criminals. Is there any more detailed information about the suspect who shot Deputy Thrower? It seems like such a senseless act that he managed to flee without facing justice. My thoughts are with the descendants of the Thrower family, who continue to live with this legacy.
Has anyone else been thinking about the impact that losing two brothers in law enforcement must've had on the Thrower family? It's unimaginable to think that in just six years, both Deputy John Thrower and Officer Will Thrower were killed while serving their community. The ripple effects of these tragedies must have been deeply felt, not only within their family but also across the Tuscaloosa community. It makes me wonder how their surviving family members coped with such losses, especially in a time when support systems might not have been as robust as they are today. If anyone has more insight into how communities supported law enforcement families back then, I'd love to hear it. Sending thoughts to the Thrower family and all those who served alongside the brothers.
