Hi everyone,
I've been following Jimmy Earl Berry's case for a while now, and one detail that's really stuck with me is the fact about the rolled coins being taken during the robbery. It's an odd choice for a robber since 80 pounds of coins isn't exactly easy to carry. This aspect makes me wonder if the theft was somewhat impulsive or poorly planned, considering the sheer weight involved.
Could it imply there was more than one person involved at the scene? Or was the primary motivation something other than the money, given the extreme actions taken? Poor Jimmy seemed like he was just doing his job, alone and unsuspecting, and my heart goes out to his family, who had to live with this awful tragedy unresolved for so long. The idea that Stafford was never charged due to his death penalties in another state adds another layer of frustration.
I'd love to hear other folks' thoughts on why the rolled coins might have been taken and if this detail tells us anything significant about the person (or people) who did this.
Hey everyone, I've been digging into Jimmy Earl Berry's case, and something that stands out to me is why someone would go through all the trouble for just $1,390—and half of that in heavy rolled coins! It's baffling to think someone could commit such a violent act and leave with a haul that was both small and cumbersome, especially with coins weighing around 80 pounds. I can't help but wonder if there was something more to it. Did the killer know Jimmy or have some vendetta, or was it just sheer desperation?
Another thing on my mind is how Roger Dale Stafford was implicated through his wife's testimony. However, he was never prosecuted for Jimmy's case because of his sentences in Oklahoma. It's frustrating knowing there might be closure available, yet justice for Jimmy and solace for his family remain elusive. Just thinking about Jimmy's loved ones waiting years for answers and then being left with lingering uncertainty—it must be incredibly difficult. Anyone else have thoughts on what might’ve happened or why the perpetrator targeted that specific McDonald's?
