Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Sergeant James Shepherd and just can't get over the bravery it takes to be in law enforcement. Remembering that night in Clatsop County in 1980, where he tragically lost his life, really highlights the dangers officers face every day. I think sometimes we forget that behind the badge are individuals who selflessly step into dangerous situations for our safety. While the suspect was caught and given a life sentence, it brings some justice to the situation. However, it doesn't change the fact that Sergeant Shepherd paid the ultimate price. I really feel for his family and friends who had to endure such a devastating loss. Does anyone know if there's been any memorial created in his honor? It would be a fitting tribute to his service and sacrifice.
