I've been digging into Deputy Conner's case, and something that's been weighing on my mind is how devastating this must have been for his partner that day. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma of losing a colleague and friend in such a sudden and violent way. We often focus on the victims and their families, but those who were on the scene face an incredibly tough road, too. It’s crucial to extend our thoughts and support to them as well. For those who remember this case or have similar experiences, what's the best way communities can support law enforcement officers during such times of loss?
