I came across this case about Witold, and something that's sticking with me is the involvement of the helicopter ride to his new property. It's always interested me how remote certain areas can be and how easy it is to lose touch with the outside world. Does anybody know the reliability of the helicopter service he used? I wonder if there were any communication logs or GPS tracking on the helicopter that might provide more clues about the last point of contact. It seems odd that he would just vanish after being so excited about building his cabin. Anyone with experience in aviation or similar remote experiences have any insights?
Just came across this case and can't stop thinking about the weather conditions in that area around the time Witold disappeared. If anyone's familiar with Homer, especially that time of year, how rough can it get out there? I've read that weather can change pretty fast, and given that Witold was planning to build a cabin, I'm wondering if he was prepared for sudden shifts. Could a storm have possibly thrown off his plans or even trapped him somewhere? It seems like a pretty remote location, and without regular updates or check-ins, it's concerning. Hoping for more information from anyone who knows the region well.
