On the evening of Thursday, August 23, 2007, 29-year-old Tayon James Glover was shot and killed around 9:55 p.m. in the 1400 block of Girard Street Northwest, Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department opened a homicide investigation but the case later went cold, leaving questions for family and the community.
Years later, testimony in an unrelated 2014 murder trial linked Glover’s death to a violent feud between neighborhood crews. A former gang member testified that Glover was believed to be affiliated with a group called G-Rod and that rivals known as 1-7 were alleged to have carried out the killing, suggesting a possible motive tied to that conflict.
No public announcement of arrests or convictions has been made. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Did anyone in the area at the time see or hear anything that could help bring clarity to what happened?
