It’s really touching to see the community coming together to remember Henry Dillard by lighting candles in his memory. 100 candles on the Gun Violence Memorial website show just how much Henry meant to those who knew him. It's clear that he was loved deeply by family and friends, and the sheer number of candles reflects the collective grief and the impact his loss has had on the community.
Henry’s passing brings a challenging conversation to the forefront: how do we address the issue of gun violence, especially among the youth? It's a conversation that seems all too frequent but is necessary. Hopefully, through awareness and dialogue, we can find ways to support families and prevent further tragedies. My thoughts are with Henry's loved ones during this difficult time.
Hello everyone,
I came across some reflections from Henry Dillard’s memorial service, and it struck me how deeply connected he was to those around him. A friend recounted how Henry was always the first to offer a helping hand, whether it was with schoolwork or just being a good listener when someone had a rough day. These stories really paint a picture of a compassionate and promising young person whose loss is felt beyond words.
It's incredibly sad to think about how many candles have been lit on the Gun Violence Memorial website for him—100 so far. It’s touching to see the community come together, but it also makes me wonder how many other innocent lives we might be losing to violence in our neighborhoods.
Holding Henry’s family in my thoughts today. We need to keep pushing for changes that prevent more families from experiencing this kind of loss.
Stay safe, everyone.
