Has anyone else noticed the involvement of the Texas Department of Public Safety in Ernie Slavik's case? It's always puzzled me why a Texas agency is handling a case from West Virginia. I mean, what could the connection be? Maybe Ernie had some ties to Texas that we don't know about? Or is it possible there's some jurisdictional thing we're not aware of? I’ve seen other cases where the investigating agency is from a different state, but it’s not common. Curious if anyone's done a deep dive into this angle or knows of any similar cases where a seemingly unrelated state took the reins. Maybe it could give us some insight into what happened to him.
