On January 27, 2008, at about 2:35 a.m., Randolph James was fatally shot inside an apartment building in the 400 block of 37th Street SE in Washington, D.C. The killing left his wife Bernadette Daniels, daughter Travonna Brooks, two stepsons Termaine Richmond and Benjamin Daniels, a grandson, sisters Peggy James and Patricia Brevard, and other relatives grieving his loss. His daughter described him as a very loving and caring father who was always there for her and his grandson.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Branch investigated the homicide and the department offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The case remains listed among the MPD’s unsolved homicides for 2008 and there have been no public announcements identifying a suspect or an arrest.
If anyone knew Randolph, was in that neighborhood that night, or has information that could help finally solve this case, please come forward to share what you know.
