Has anyone else looked into the restaurant, La Paloma, where Wendy was last seen? It's crazy to think that the bartender, who had only been there for two days, ended up being a sketchy drifter like Darren Dee O'Neall. I wonder if La Paloma had any protocols for background checks back then or if anyone else who worked there noticed something off about him. It's tragic that Wendy met someone so dangerous right before she disappeared. Maybe there are former employees or patrons who might remember something that could offer more clues regarding that night. Anyone have thoughts on this angle?
Hey everyone, I'm curious about the investigation timeline in Wendy Aughe's case. It's strange how long it took for DNA evidence to come into play. I get that back in the 80s, DNA wasn't really a thing, but it seems like they had a fair amount of evidence from the start with blood and semen at the scene. I'm really interested in learning about when they originally processed that evidence. Did they just keep it on file for years until technology caught up, or was it reevaluated down the line? Also, does anyone know more about how the DNA testing has evolved over the years and led to reopening cold cases like Wendy's? I'd love to hear your thoughts or any resources you might have.
