Hey everyone,
Something that's been really puzzling me about the Freeport case is the whole GPS situation. The fact that the GPS device on Zimmerman's boat had coordinates indicating they planned to travel much farther out but then it stopped working is so strange. Does anyone else wonder if the malfunction was due to the suspected impact that caused the hairline crack or two-foot hole? Or maybe there was a technical issue beforehand that might have affected their route decision?
I'm curious if anyone here has boating experience and knows whether it's common for onboard GPS units to fail suddenly like that. Also, I've been wondering if the missing 120-gallon ice chest could have any connection. Maybe it got dislodged and contributed to whatever the boat hit, causing the crack or hole? Would love to hear some theories or ideas!
Thanks for reading, and let's keep hoping for any new info on this case.
I've been following the Zimmerman, Childs, and Keller case, and something that caught my attention was the role of the boat's GPS in this mystery. It's eerie to think that their last known planned coordinates took them even further out than where the boat was found capsized. Why did they plan to travel so far out, and could there be a reason we don't know about? I've heard people make longer fishing trips, but it just feels off to me. Not to mention, the GPS device stopped working too soon, leaving so many unanswered questions. I keep thinking that if it had just recorded a bit more, we might have had crucial information about their final moments. Anyone else have thoughts on why they chose that particular route, or theories on what might have gone wrong?
