Does anyone else remember the tragic case of Lequan Clayton and Tevin Rutledge? I've been thinking about them a lot lately. It was such a devastating loss for their families and the community as a whole. I can't imagine the pain of losing a loved one so suddenly and violently. The fact that this happened near a place as ordinary as a power substation just makes it more chilling. It's a stark reminder of how quickly life can change. It seems like justice was served in terms of the sentencing, but I wonder how their families are coping years later. With all the talk about gun violence, it's easy to forget that behind each statistic are real people and real families who are affected. Sending love and strength to anyone who knew Lequan and Tevin. They deserved so much better.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case surrounding the tragic deaths of Lequan Dalon Clayton and Tevin Rutledge since it happened in 2015, and something has been on my mind. I recently read that the chase following their shooting was quite intense, leading to Manley Deontay Bray's arrest. It makes me wonder about the psychological state of someone who could remain composed enough to lead police on such a high-speed pursuit after committing such a horrifying act. It’s unsettling to imagine the level of detachment required to try and escape like that immediately after taking two lives. Also, the fact that Bray eventually pleaded guilty seems to suggest he might’ve known he had no way out, yet he still ran. I can’t stop thinking about how these actions robbed Lequan and Tevin of their futures and devastated their families. My heart goes out to everyone affected. They deserve justice, and I hope they find some peace knowing Bray won’t be able to harm anyone else. How can communities address and prevent these patterns of violence? It’s terrifying to think about how pervasive this issue has become. ?

Scrolling through the old news articles about the tragic loss of Lequan Dalon Clayton and Tevin Rutledge just breaks my heart. I can't even begin to imagine the pain their families have been through since that terrible day in July 2015. What struck me today was learning about the high-speed chase that followed the shooting. It makes me wonder about the mindset of someone who's just committed such a senseless act and then attempts to flee. Was Manley Bray even remotely thinking about his victims during all of this? The ripple effect of trauma from these events is just unimaginable—not only for the families but also for the community witnessing yet another act of gun violence. It serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for proactive measures to curb this destructive trend. Sending love to those who knew and loved Lequan and Tevin. They deserved so much more.
