Berhanu Berhanu, also known as Berhanu Taye, was shot and killed in the early hours of Saturday, May 24, 2008. The fatal shooting occurred at about 1:36 a.m. in the 1900 block of 9th Street NW in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Two other people suffered graze wounds that were not life-threatening.

Berhanu had moved to the District of Columbia about a year before his death and was a father who left behind children and an ex-wife. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division opened a homicide investigation, canvassed the area, and a reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. No arrests have been announced, and no suspects have been publicly identified.

Does anyone have information about Berhanu’s life in D.C., the Shaw area on that night, or seen anything that could help solve this case?
