Just came across this case, and my heart goes out to Greg Gunn's family. I can't imagine their sense of loss and frustration, especially given the recent plea deal. It’s so disheartening to see how the legal system handled this. The fact that Steve Marshall decided on a plea deal after everything the Gunn family went through must feel like a punch in the gut. Something that really sticks out to me is how Greg was portrayed by those who knew him. He was clearly a beloved member of his community, a caring son, and actively involved in his fraternity. It’s just so sad to think that a community leader like him could be taken in such a tragic manner. It’s incidents like these that really emphasize the importance of advancing conversations on police reform and racial profiling. Greg’s case is a stark reminder that there is still so much work to be done to ensure safety and justice for everyone. Is there anything more happening now locally in terms of reform after all this? Curious if any new initiatives have been proposed or taken root.
