I’ve been following the Greenhill case and can’t shake the thought of how this tragedy has impacted Elizabeth’s sons, Casey and Charles Bentley. Their world was turned upside down in an instant, and while recovering physically is a challenge, the emotional scars are something they’ll carry forever. The community’s support in lighting candles and gathering for Elizabeth’s vigil is meaningful, but I hope it serves as a continual reminder to be there for these young men in the long road ahead. It’s gut-wrenching to think about how threats were made but nothing was done—maybe this will push for better conversations and actions around domestic threats that often slip under the radar. My heart goes out to everyone affected; it’s a burden no one should have to bear.
