John Calvin Skinner Jr. was found dead in an alley in the 1700 block of U Street SE in Washington, D.C., on the morning of August 26, 2008. He was 56 years old when his body was discovered at about 7:00 a.m., and the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch classified the death as a homicide.

Details about the injuries were not publicly released, but the location and circumstances of the discovery led investigators to treat the death as the result of violence. The case remains open and has since been treated as a cold case. Detectives have continued to seek tips from the public, and a reward has been offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. No arrests or suspects have been publicly identified.

Does anyone have information or recollections from that neighborhood in August 2008 that could help investigators?
