Did anyone ever look into the safety protocols of the charter company that operated the Taki Tooo? There must have been some investigation or repercussions after an accident of this magnitude, right? I read somewhere that the area they were in is notorious for rough conditions. It makes me wonder if the company should have even been out there with so many people on board. Charter companies should prioritize safety, especially in places known for dangerous currents. It's so eerie to think about how quickly everything must have happened and how two lives are still unaccounted for. Could any changes have been implemented to prevent something like this in the future?
I've been digging into the Taki Tooo tragedy from 2003, and something keeps bugging me. It's the sweatshirt they found caught on the rocks of the Tillamook Bay jetty. For anyone familiar with how searches like these are conducted, how significant would finding a piece of clothing actually be? Does it indicate anything about how Timothy Albus might have been carried by the currents? I know the currents there are notorious for being unpredictable, and I wonder if they gave any more clues for the search team back then. It's sad to think that a small detail like clothing is all that's left to try and piece together what happened. Anyone else have any thoughts or insights on search operations in areas with strong currents?
