It's truly devastating to think about what Brandon Hines' family must be going through. I can’t even imagine the pain they felt during those days when he was fighting for his life in the hospital. The fact that the Valley Brook Apartments complex had such a history of violence makes you wonder how many more lives have been affected by similar tragedies. It seems like Erik Carey managed to slip through the cracks for a while until his arrest, which is frustrating. What are your thoughts on how these situations can be better handled? Surely there must be more effective ways for law enforcement and communities to collaborate and prevent such tragic losses. My heart goes out to everyone who loved Brandon and knew him—nobody should have to endure this.
