I was reading about Kenneth William Spencer's case and I can't help but wonder about the rifle or shotgun he took with him. Has anyone ever mentioned if either was found at the scene with the remains or anywhere in the vicinity? It seems like a pretty significant detail that might give more insight into what happened that night. Also, who in their right mind goes into the woods alone and armed if they think there's a prowler nearby? It's chilling to think about the possible scenarios. It's a shame there wasn't more information back in '88; maybe it could've led to some answers much sooner.
Does anyone else find it strange how long it took to identify Kenneth Spencer's remains? I mean, he vanished in 1988, and the remains were found in 2017. That's almost 30 years sitting there without being identified. I get that DNA technology is better now, but why did it take until 2024 to finally confirm it was him? Were there no other relatives to test against until then, or was it just low priority? It's frustrating to think that answers were right there for so long without anyone knowing. Also, it makes me wonder if his remains were actually in the search area back in 1988, or could something have happened later on that moved them? All in all, it’s got me curious about cold cases that are still waiting for similar breakthroughs. Thoughts?
