I've been thinking a lot about the wonderful community surrounding Eric Smith, especially those who knew him from Metals USA. It's clear how deeply he touched everyone with his charisma and loyalty. You can really tell from the stories shared by his coworkers and friends that Eric, or "Wolfman" as they affectionately called him, wasn't just about clocking in and out. He was the type of person who made work feel less like work. His sense of humor seemed to make tough days a little brighter for everyone.
Does anyone know if his colleagues have arranged any memorials or gatherings outside of the funeral? I feel like collective remembrance activities really help keep the spirit of someone like Eric alive. My thoughts are continually with his family and friends. ?️
Does anyone else find it odd that there's so little information available about Eric's work at Metals USA? Given that he spent so many years there, I was expecting more colleagues to speak up or share memories during the services. I mean, work friends can often be like a second family, especially for someone with as much personality as Eric seems to have had. I feel for his family—losing someone who was such a big personality must be so difficult. I hope they find the answers they need and the support from all corners, including his work family.
