Hey everyone, I’ve been reading through the threads about Carlos Smith's tragic case, and something I’ve been thinking about is the impact on the small-town community of Pine Hill. I grew up in a small town myself, and I know how close-knit these communities can be. When a crime like this happens, it not only affects the victim's family but leaves a lasting scar on everyone in the town. The fact that this was the first homicide of 2018 and drew so much attention shows how significant it was for Pine Hill. I can only imagine the fear and anxiety among the residents during that time. It makes me wonder about the long-term effects such incidents might have on the town's sense of security and neighborly trust. Does anyone know if there were any community meetings or initiatives that came out of this situation? I think hearing from local people who lived through it could shed light on how the town has been coping since then and whether this tragedy led to any positive changes in local crime prevention efforts.
