I've been following the case of Stephen K. Griffith, and one thing that stands out to me is the vulnerability of elderly people living alone in rural areas. It's incredibly disturbing to think about someone like Mr. Griffith, who should have been safe in his own home, falling victim to such a heinous crime. The fact that a supposed robbery turned so violent is troubling, to say the least. It makes me wonder about the measures we have—or need to have—in place to protect other elderly members of our communities. It’s devastating for Mr. Griffith's family and friends and truly shakes your sense of safety to the core. My thoughts go out to everyone who knew him. They say it takes a village to raise a child, but maybe it should also take a village to protect our elders. What do you all think could be done to prevent such tragedies in the future?
