Michael O’Bryon Harris was shot and killed on the evening of Monday, August 31, 2009, in the 900 block of Hamilton Street NW in Washington, D.C. The shooting occurred at about 6:26 p.m. and remains an open, unsolved homicide.

Authorities have not publicly identified suspects or announced arrests, and officials have not released details about the circumstances of the shooting or a possible motive. Harris was survived by his parents Timmy and Rita and his father Michael, along with five brothers and five sisters. A service was held for him on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at First Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
