I was doing some digging into the disappearance of Edith Gertrude Hillman and found something intriguing related to her car. The 1979 Toyota Corolla was located in the parking lot of Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, which is about 50 miles from her home in Leakesville. What strikes me as odd is why her car ended up there of all places.
Did someone take her to the hospital for help, or was it just a convenient spot for the perpetrator to abandon the vehicle? The blood in the backseat is particularly troubling and raises so many questions. Has anyone ever heard if the blood was tested or connected to anyone? And why would her abductor leave such a damning piece of evidence in plain view?
It seems like the discovery of her car should have generated more leads, but instead, it feels like the trail went cold right after. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has any thoughts or theories on what might have led to her car being left there.
