I came across this case recently and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. The aspect that's really sticking with me is the truck Bernard was working on when they disappeared. This detail feels important because it's so bizarre—he had the hood open and was in the middle of installing a new sound system, which seems like an odd detail to leave hanging if they were planning to take off voluntarily. Maybe he was interrupted suddenly? Could someone have shown up unexpectedly, causing them to leave in a hurry? And why leave everything behind, even the keys in the ignition? It's so puzzling that a sudden emergency would make them abandon everything, especially their son. The fact that the truck wasn't used might be a key piece of the puzzle. I'm curious if anyone thinks there could be a connection between the truck and their disappearance. Could there have been a confrontation with someone they knew? It's haunting to think that the answers might have been so close at some point but slipped away with the fire.
