I came across another article about the tragic events on September 5th, 2018, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about how much Briana Young’s family and friends have gone through since that night. It also made me think about the male companion who was with her and survived. Although much of the focus has rightfully been on Briana, we can't forget that this gentleman also endured such a terrifying ordeal. I can’t imagine the horror they both experienced in those moments, and what it must be like knowing your life might turn around in such a violent manner. Always makes me wonder about witnesses. It was late, but that doesn't mean someone didn't see or hear something. Pratt City is a vibrant community, and I hope that anyone who might know anything, however small, will come forward. Justice for Briana and healing for this man’s family depend on it. If you have more info or thoughts to share, it might encourage someone else to speak up too.

I just came across Briana Young's case, and it's beyond upsetting to see another young life taken too soon. What really stands out to me is the bravery she and the male companion showed, even after being shot. Driving themselves to the hospital shows how desperate they were to survive and get help. It makes you think about what they must've been going through in those moments. I truly hope the male companion is recovering well, both physically and emotionally, although I can't imagine the trauma he's dealing with. It's incredibly frustrating that no suspects have been identified yet. I can only hope that someone will come forward with information — even the smallest detail could be critical. The fact that Briana's murder was part of a violent spike in Birmingham underscores a systemic issue that desperately needs to be addressed. I'm keeping Briana's family and friends in my thoughts and hoping justice will eventually be served.
